Before the MA in Material Futures at Central St Martins University London, I studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.

The development of my research requires a substantial production of images and works, which is why I’m always trying to focus on more than one project. Embroidery gives me the possibility to carry on my production wherever I am. One of the thigs that I especially like about this medium is that when it is mentioned it makes people think more of the grandmothers’ home rather than the Great Art of the past, unlike painting or other mediums. Embroidery allows me to translate very complicated reflections and concepts into simple images.

Nevertheless, I never set limits to the technique or the materials which I could use. I think that every work deserves its own language. I really appreciate the kind of Art that leads to deep reflections, starting from small things.
When I begin a new project, I wonder how this can be understood and interpreted by people from different places and different backgrounds.

My research is a constant reflection on what we usually consider familiar, banal, generally not worth of attention.
